New implementing decision (EU) 2019/1202 on the atex directive

Changes to presumption of conformity

On 15.07.2019, the Commission issued Implementing Decision (EU) 2019/1202 in Official Journal L 189 (p. 71).

Under Article 1, with effect from 15.07.2019, the EN IEC 60079-0:2018-07 “Explosive atmospheres - Part 0: Equipment - General Requirements (IEC 60079-0:2017)” confers a presumption of conformity under ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU.

EN 60079-0:2012-08+A11:2013-11 will be removed from the Official Journal on 06.07.2021 (Article 2) and will lose its presumption of conformity on that day.
